this day in history

I haven't had the time to write a thing today. I've been so busy, so on task, so focused.

My boss should be proud.

And it's really hard to focus when this time of year rolls around. It's a race to the finish line that is December 25th -- turkey comas and black Fridays fading into the distance as we have left November in our dust.

Anywho, I'm testing the waters for a new blog theme to throw in every once in awhile. Let me know what you think!

A guy who's a big Beethoven fan flies all the way to Bonn, Grmany to visit the master's grave. He arrives in the middle of the night but can't wait, goes to the cemetery. A shaft of light is coming from Beethoven's grave. Guy peers in, sees Beethoven sitting at a piano, furiously erasing music.
Guy says, "Beethoven, what are you doing?"
Beethoven says, "What you think I'm doing? I'm decomposing."
Har har har.

December 16, 1995: Travener gets married.
December 16, 2009: Travener contemplates how his life might have gone better if he'd gone ahead and married Becky the bisexual instead.

I love the new theme!!

So wait, was the Battle of the Bulge actually a battle? Nevermind, don't shame me, I'll look it up haha.

what is going on with you and your wife? you are hatin' on her lately. I enjoy spousal tension, don't get me wrong -- but you've got me all curious.

look it up in your funk and wagnalls!
*sighs at the bad pun*

Well done.
Carissa: Yes, one of my great uncles died in it.

Tina thinks that Amber should definitely add this as a theme. It makes me happy:)

I should just shut up about it, you're right.

Did I mention how much I love my kids? More than anything.

It's okay, Trav. I contemplate the very same thing.
