we're gonna have some fun, show ya how it's done: tgif

I'm home for lunch.

It's such a treat to get to compose a blog post during the day.

Oh, wait. I don't know what to write about. I need a topic.

There are several things I could tell you about -- my new job, the amount of money I have spent in the last two weeks due to not coming home for lunch, how cold it is in Kentucky today, and (in related news) about the snowstorm that we may or may not get tonight or tomorrow morning.

So, there's plenty to choose from.

Let's start with the new job -- I love it. I have really clicked with the staff, the customers are all friendly, and it's been an easy transition (with the expception of the 8:15 a.m. arrival.)

However, I'm still really glad it's Friday.

I'll be even happier when it's time to lock the bank doors at 6:05 tonight.

I am looking forward to the weekend, and the possibility of being snowed-in is, which is quite appealing. I will watch movies and college basketball and read books and write. I'll also think about how I need to clean my house -- which is a thought that is less appealing. Obvi.

Ohh, and I'll sleep. I will sleep as if it's going out of style. I don't think I've gotten more than six hours of shut-eye on any given night this week, and I require eight, minimum, to be useful to society. Clearly, I've been performing on adrenaline at my new job this week. I can't run on that forever. I'm not a machine.

How's the weather where you are? Do you have any awesomespice weekend plans?  Can you believe it's almost the end of January?

One more thing before I put the petal to the metal and head back to the bank: thanks to Sierra Godfrey for including me in her Friday Reader Roundup! I feel special. spice.

No plans, alas. An extra day taking care of the kids since today is the day between semesters and here that means they get the day off. Had a CT scan this morning that took forever because the little EKG electrodes they had hooked to me showed my heart rate jumping between 5, 105, 33, 87, 12, etc. They assured me this was a malfunction of the machine and not my heart. Realized as I slide towards elder status that this is what I have to look forward to -- a bunch of visits to various doctors as my body wears out.

Cherish your youth, my young friend. The weather here in the Great Northwest is unusually mild. Something to do with El Nino and the jet stream splitting in two, so as California gets socked with rain we bask in near-sunlight. I wish it would snow here. Winter without snow is like a bagel without cream cheese.

The whether here in the big A was gorgeous until yesterday. Sun was out, birds were shining, women in sun dresses where frolicking around.. well, maybe not, but you get the idea. Now, clouds moved in, and we are threatened by the same snow system you are.

No plans. Def cleaning, writing, finishing the two books I've been reading, and catching up on Dexter and criminal minds. I'm all caught up on CSI.

I don;t remember the last time I had eight hours sleep (outside the weekend and sick time). Its one of those things that you never get used to.

Enjoy your sports.

Hold up - you work 8.15 am until 6.05 pm??? That is soooo not right!

The weather in Glasgow . . . has been okay, surprisingly, after three weeks of the coldest conditions I remember for AT LEAST thirteen years. Although I never left my flat today (I had the day off) and don't know what it was like outside - and I don't intend to leave my flat again until Monday morning.

I live a truly fascinating life...

I'm glad you like your new job! I actually don't have any plans either. Just catch up on my blog reading. ;) It's pretty cold/snowy here, so I'm fine with staying in.

We're stuck inside on a snowy Saturday. So I guess my plans involve catching up with my bloggy friends...

I can't do a post on my lunch hour; I tried once and got back so late . .

Sometimes I visit other blogs on lunch though, and leave a comment. It's kinda cool not to be the last commenter on an interesting post.

Hope you had a relaxing weekend.
